Created by producer Adrian Grant, Thriller first opened on the West End in 2008 and has become a tribute to the late Michael Jackson who passed away on the 25th June 2009, with the show becoming increasingly popular ever since.
This energetic production pleases audiences each night with hit after hit from the seemingly endless Jackson back catalogue. The show has four different vocalists (male and female) delivering numbers such as “ABC”, “Don’t Stop ‘til You Get Enough”, “Beat It”, “Smooth Criminal” and of course “Thriller” itself, which are all sure fire crowd pleasers.
The show does not just focus on Michael Jackson’s amazing musical legacy, but also exemplifies some of his best choreographed dance moves which are performed alongside each number by the energetic ensemble and/or the lead dancer. The show also demonstrates the King of Pop’s cool dress sense, with some of his famous outfits recreated on stage such as the iconic military jacket and white gloves.
Thriller – Live is more of a concert than a musical as it does not have a storyline as such, it simply follows the rough chronological release of Michael Jackson’s music. This show is perfect for any Michael Jackson fan looking to hear his music performed live.
