Vocal TrainingEvery group works towards a performance at the end each course, whether its for a demonstration in the studios for parents, an vocal piece in one of our musical productions or at a singers showcase (offered to students aged 16+) at a professional cabaret/ theatre venue. Past showcases have given students the opportunity to perform in front of invited guests of agents and a+r music industry scouts. Many of our students have gone on to become recoding artists and appeared in West End shows, see success stories.

Whatever you are looking for from the vocal classes we can guarantee enjoyable top quality sessions taught by industry professionals.

Junior School

With our younger students, the main focus is on enjoying
singing, learning the meaning of the song, how important
the lyrics are and being able to present a song to an
audience.

They are taught scales, fun exercises and entire songs in
preparation for the end of term presentation or the
annual school production held at a major theatre. Each
song builds up to incorporate a little bit of movement
ready for when they move onto the senior classes where
they will be focusing on musical theatre numbers which
incorporates singing, dancing and acting.

Senior School

Vocal TrainingFor the senior school they will be taught correct singing techniques, breathing, posture, projection and song interpretation, they will learn about the different voices in females and males, alto, mezzo, soprano, bass, baritone, tenor etc. The main focus for the senior school is on performance which includes a variety of opportunities including songs from popular music/ chart and musical theatre pieces.

Many students in the senior school who want to go onto full time training will be taught how to audition for stage schools, working on audition technique and how to present yourself during an audition situation.

For both the junior and the senior school there is also a lot of empisis on fun and enjoyment delivered by our very experienced tutors whilst also helping the students discovering what they are capable of, learning how versatile they can be as a performer.

Adults

Our adult classes are designed to encourage students to become individual performers, supported by solid technical training in posture, breathing, projection, harmony and ensemble work. The sessions are broken up into vocal warm up, technique and performance based preparation.

For those who join for enjoyment they will leave the course with a greater knowledge of vocal training and experience what it takes to train as a vocalist and perform a song to a live audience.

Raphaella has signed to a production label and is writing and recording her debut album, which is anticipated for release in 2011.

PPAS gave me the confidence to believe in myself both as a performer and as a person. Being there from the age of 13-18, it really felt like a family who I grew up with, and I’ll always feel at home whenever I go back.
